1st Verse: Throw Yourself out There and Figure it Out Along the Way!

The reason why I started this newsletter, A little bit about myself, The Bookcast

Hey there!

Firstly, I wanna wish you a warm welcome to Diana’s Verse!

Just so you know, it truly means the world to me that you are reading these words and that you decided to join this journey with me. 🙏🏻

You’re wondering why I started this newsletter? 👀

Because let's face it, life is too short not to share your thoughts with like-minded people.

Besides it, I feel that Twitter threads will get lost at some point in the never-ending timeline. This is why I will repurpose some of the content in here.

Now a little bit about myself:

I'm always trying out new things and pushing myself to be better. And while I may not have it all figured out, I promise to inspire you to try something new.

This is exactly what I’ll try to do by sharing a little personal story.

I was 20 years old and I felt the need to spice up my life while learning as many things as I could, meeting lots of different people and getting to travel places.

That’s how I decided to take an Erasmus grant (a program that allows you to study in another country).

Now I had to take the decision: should I go to a country where I could take classes in English or to a French-speaking country?

But the problem was I couldn’t speak French! AT ALL! 😳

Well, that was exactly the reason why I chose France lol. A kinda stupid decision you’d think, ha?

Even if it seemed like it for a lot of people, I thought it would be the only way I could learn French in a short period of time. My professors were teaching in French, my classmates were speaking to me in French… and I tried my best to understand and speak to them.

But the French words just didn’t want to get out of my mouth in the first few weeks. So I just kept listening to French-speaking people.

Buuut fast-forward six months, that sorted out as being one of the best decisions of my life. I could speak it at the end of my stay there. Which further led to a lot of opportunities, including a job with a French client that I’m currently having.

So what I want you to remain with from this story is: THROW YOURSELF OUT THERE AND FIGURE IT OUT ALONG THE WAY!

You’ll be obliged to learn and do your best and I’m sure you’ll handle it better than you think! 🙌

Now’s time for The Bookcast 📚🎙️ → You got it right, it’s the universe of books and podcasts in here.

In this section, I will recommend to you either a book or podcast that I find truly inspiring and that impacted me.

The first recommendation is the book “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah.

Down below you’ll find a phrase from it that really stuck with me:

That’s all for now! If you’ve made it till here, I truly appreciate you!
