2nd Verse: How to Maximize the Impact of Your Writing

How I reach a wider audience by repurposing my content

Hey! Welcome again into Diana’s Verse.

I hope you’ve had an amaaazing week! ❤

Below are the topics I’ll share with you today:

Why repurposing your content is important

There’s a lot of content out there that gets lost in the black hole of the internet. And I know you struggle with it too, right?

It is a pity when you’re creating something that you’ve spent a lot of time working on and it is only seen by a handful of people and then forgotten about.

This is why repurposing your content is so important. Besides the fact that it gives your content a second life, it also allows you to reach a wider audience and saves time on creating new content.

Steps on how you can do it

Take your existing content and make it in a different format.

For example, let's say you’ve written an article/newsletter on a certain topic.

These are really rich content pieces which can be turned then into multiple Twitter threads. Threads can be then transformed into multiple tweets. Tweets can then be shared on Instagram and LinkedIn.

Twitter threads can also be used as a script for short-form videos that can then be shared as reels on Instagram, TikToks or YouTube shorts.

Also, you can turn it into a long-form video.

This is how the best content creators out there are able to maximize their content post over a hundred pieces a month without necessarily coming up with new content ideas all the time. And one of the best parts is that most of the times your audience doesn't even recognize that your Instagram post is the same as your short-form video or that your newsletter is the same as your long-form video.

People like to consume content in different ways. The person who's reading your long newsletter may not be the same person that's reading a LinkedIn post.

And so when you create content in this way, it really creates more accessibility and it creates more diversity with your content and the amount of people that you're able to reach.

Of course, it works the other way around as well. You can take an existing video and turn it into a blog post. The possibilities are endless and I believe it is all about finding the format that works best for you.

This is how a lot of people are transforming their one-person business into a 7 figure business.

Personally, I’ve experimented just with written content by now, but who knows what the future might bring.

Update and optimize the new format

Let's say you've decided to turn a YouTube video into a Twitter thread. It is important to transform the key points of the video into easy-to-read pieces of information. Like any piece of written content, it will also need a catchy headline to grab your audience's attention.

So taking into account the new format of your content is definitely a point that needs to be taken into account.

Once done, it's important to measure its performance and compare it to the original version.

I think you should measure how the new format performs as it can offer valuable information on whether it resonates well with your audience. Afterward, you can identify areas where you can improve your repurposing strategy.

There are different indicators that can be used for measuring it such as views, email openings, click rate, likes, retweets, engagement, etc.

As a repurposing example, I’ve just transformed an old Twitter thread into this newsletter.

This week I’ve been participating in a contest put out by Blockchain Bounty where the task was to give our content a baby Yoda spin. You can check it below:
